The Shoshana Foundation was established in 1986 with the mission of providing funding and career support to young, emerging American opera singers. The Foundation does not select the recipient, rather participating opera companies and music schools nominate one of their own singers of outstanding promise. Both current and past recipients are eligible for supplemental grants, when appropriate and subject to approval by the Foundation's Board of Directors.
